Virginia Tech's leading scorer has decided to forego his final year of eligibility with the Hokies and transfer following his graduation.

Smith led the Hokies with 13.4 points per game while shooting nearly 44% from the field.

The attrition continues for Virginia Tech and there might be more to come. As the talent levels increase under Buzz Williams there will surely be a shortage of playing time for several players that are used to contributing out of necessity.
With the addition of Seth Allen and 2 freshmen standouts (Justin Robinson and Chris Clarke) there would have been limited playing time for Smith, in my opinion. He is a great young man and we wish him well.
