Offensive line coach Stacy Searels worked hard to get Hopple back on campus and eventually got him to commit to the Hokies. Hopple is currently rated as a 3* prospect and the #25 player in the state of Virginia. At 6-6, 270 lbs Hopple fits the mold that Coach Searels wants for his Tackle prospects, which is where he will start out for the Hokies.

Early this week the Hokies also picked up a commitment from Clay Dean a 3* defensive tackle prospect that Torrian Gray and Bud Foster really like. He is a high-motor guy that will need to add weight to play defensive tackle for the Hokies, but I actually see him slimming down and becoming a standup inside linebacker in a 3-4 system that the Hokies defensive staff is working on developing.
