Virginia Tech hosts Miami in the regular season finale. The Hokies have played hard down the stretch, but have been unable to transition that work ethic into wins.

Miami comes into Cassell holding a 19-11 overall record while having gone 9-8 in the ACC. The Hurricanes are led by Sheldon McClellan who averages 15 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists per contest. McClellan's backcourt mate, Angel Rodriguez, is day-to-day with a wrist injury, but might see some action against the Hokies. The real threat from Miami is their ability to play team defense for 35 seconds and then let Tonye Jekiri, 7 ft tall center, take over inside with his size.

It is senior day in Blacksburg as Christian Beyer and Will Johnston will play their last game in a Hokies uniform. Both players are former walk-ons who joined the team under Seth Greenberg and ultimately developed into very productive members of this team. We wish both of these young men the best as they move forward.
