Since the end of the season, Buzz and Co. have been traveling the country evaluate high-schoolers, junior college players and transfers in hopes of bring more talent and depth to VT.

While much of the recruiting on the AAU circuit is for 2016, 2017 and 2018 prospects, the Hokies have also identified several junior college guys that could come in and compete right away. Over this past weekend the Hokies hosted:
Johnny Hamilton, is a 7 ft tall forward that is raw offensively, but could add much needed size on the glass and defensively. He averaged 9 points and 8 rebounds per contest last season at Jacksonville College.

Ty Outlaw, is 6'5 guard from NC who initially attended UNC-Greensboro before transferring to Lee College where he has established himself as one of the best JuCo players in the nation. He averaged 21 points/game while shooting 50% from the field. He has an ACC-ready body and likes to attack the basket, which fits well with what Buzz is trying to do. There are several problems with taking another guard because frankly the Hokies have too many to play as it is and Outlaw's game is fairly comparable to incoming freshmen Chris Clarke and already on roster players like Jalen Hudson.
Deshawn Freeman, is a name you might remember GobblerCountry talking about a year or so ago as Buzz Williams pursued his services until extenuating circumstance kept Freeman at the JuCo level. Freeman is the most intriguing prospect because he is a hybrid G/F that plays like a guard, but stands 6'7-6'8, which allows him to play above the rim on offense and alter shots and rebound on the defensive end. Right now, I feel that Freeman will be a Hokie if Buzz continues to push for his services.

Also, Buzz is not only sitting in gyms and watching basketball on these trips. He recently stopped in Louisville to visit some of his friends from Buzz's Bunch who he had worked with in Wisconsin. What a guy, Hokies.
