NFL Attends VT fall camp

Hokie players get opportunity to showcase talent

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

During practice yesterday afternoon, Hokie players received a pleasant surprise in regards to who would be in attendance.

NFL scouts from 17 teams stopped by to see some of the future draft picks Virginia Tech has on its roster. Offensive line coach Stacy Searels, tweeted out a picture of the complete list of NFL personnel.

Frank Beamer has a number of NFL-caliber talent on his team this year, and is one of the reasons the Hokies come into the season with so much hype. The defense may be Beamers best in years.

Bucky Brooks of NFL.com recently released a list of the top 25 college football teams with the most NFL talent and Virginia Tech came in at number 13.

According to Brooks the players who are expected to make the biggest impact are CB Kendall Fuller, DE/OLB Dadi Nicolas, DE/OLB Ken Ekanem, CB Brandon Facyson and TE Ryan Malleck.

Virginia tech arguable has the best defensive end tandem in the nation. Nicolas and Ekanem combined for a whopping 18.5 sacks last year and 33 tackles for loss.

Nicolas and Malleck are the only seniors on the list above, but it will be interesting to see if other prospects decide to leave school early.
