The Hokies women's soccer team is continuing to thrive so far this season, earning its second consecutive shutout - during a road game against VCU on Sunday.
The now 12th-ranked Hokies are 6-0-1 on the season. Alani Johnson was the first to put the Hokies on the board, scoring a goal in the 37th minute during the first half. Less than a minute later, Johnson scored again, moving the score to 2-0. In the second half, Laila Gray scored in the 66th minute, her first goal of the season and third of her career, giving the Hokies the lead and to win the game, 3-0.
