The 2016 Virginia Tech Hokie Football Schedule is Out

The 2016 Hokies Football Schedule is Finalized. We have TWO.. Thursday night prime time games in a row against big time opponents Miami (Home) and Pitt (in the Big Ketchup). It's going to be a tough season with no real cupcakes... Even Liberty is a good program.

The 2016 ACC Football Schedule is out, and here is the Virginia Tech Hokies' trip through the 2016 football season.  The entire ACC Schedule is listed at RayComm Sports

We get two Thursday Night Games this season, Home against the Hurricanes on October 20, and a chance to actually win one in the Big Ketchup against Pitt, October 27.

The interesting thing is that the ACC season opens at home against Boston College, and it's early; September 17th -only the third week.  That's going to be a real challenge and a more daunting warm up for the revenge game against East Carolina on September 24.  All in all just 6 games at home, most of the season is evenly paced between alternating home and away games.  Carolina and then Syracuse is going to present a challenge since it's two away games in a row, very far apart.  Travel like that can wear on a team's consistency.

Of course the Spring game is Scheduled for Saturday April 23, and is currently labeled the Maroon and Orange Game.  The March to April practice and scrimmage schedule is going to be interesting and critical this year.  Of course that all leads up to this:

The 2016 Virginia Tech Hokie Football Schedule:

  • Sept. 3: vs. Liberty
  • Sept. 10: vs. Tennessee (Bristol. Tenn.)
  • Sept. 17: vs. Boston College
  • Sept. 24: vs. East Carolina
  • Oct. 8: at North Carolina
  • Oct. 15: at Syracuse
  • Oct. 20: vs. Miami (Thursday)
  • Oct. 27: at Pittsburgh (Thursday)
  • Nov. 5: at Duke
  • Nov. 12: vs. Georgia Tech
  • Nov. 19: at Notre Dame
  • Nov. 26: vs. Virginia

We'll be covering as much live as we can.  News and events will be posted as they happen.  Times, as always are up in the air and heavily dependent on the Television Contracts.  Thursdays are pretty easy.  This schedule is not.  Coach Fuente and staff have their work cut out for them.

GO HOKIES!!!!
