Virginia Tech Now On The Board For National Championship

Online book Bovada thinks highly of the Hokies

NCAA Football: Virginia Tech at North Carolina Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

The Virginia Tech Hokies started the season 300-1 to make the College Football Playoff. Well, these times are certainly changing. Online sports book Bovada recently released its odds to win the National Championship, and the red hot Hokies now find themselves at 50-1 to win the natty. Alabama remains the favorite at 5-2. The Hokies share the same 50-1 odds as Miami, Houston, and L.S.U.. As recently as 10/3, the Hokies weren’t even on the board. The fact that the Hokies will face the ‘Canes on 10/20 should alter these odds even further.

The Atlantic favorite remains Clemson. At 7-2, the Tigers are slightly less favored than ‘Bama and Ohio State. To see Clemson’s offense take on Bud Fosters defense in Orlando would be must see T.V.. First and foremost, the Hokies will have to dispatch a vastly improved Miami team. The game will be played in Blacksburg, but Miami ran all over the Hokies the last time the game was played at Lane. The good news is that Virginia Tech is on the verge of being on the national radar again. The Hokies control the Coastal, and things might be very interesting come December.
