Virginia Tech Ladies Knock Off Tennessee

Lady Hokies Take Down Rocky Top 67-63

ICYMI, the Virginia Tech women’s basketball team is 6-0. First year head coach Kenny Brooks has the Hokies on absolute fire. Today the Hokies defeated the #17 ranked Tennessee Volunteers. Brooks was the head coach at James Madison from 2003-2016. He has a career .738 career winning percentage. The fact that Virginia Tech just defeated Pat Summit’s old team should not be discounted. This is another excellent hire from Virginia Tech A.D. Whit Babcock, who was charged with replacing the football coach, and both basketball coaches since taking the position.

The Lady Hokies were paced by Chanette Hicks. Hicks had a game high 24 for the Hokies. Regan Magarity chipped in with 16 points, and dominated the paint for the Hokies. Sidney Cook threw in 14, and the Hokies closed out the Vols in relatively easy fashion. The Lady Hokies will take to the floor on December 1st, when they host the Cornhuskers from Nebraska.
