Traveling on the road and beating a quality opponent can be a real challenge. The Virginia Tech women traveled to Auburn, Alabama on Sunday, and came out with the overtime win. The Hokies defeated the Tigers 92-87 in overtime, as the Hokies get ready to enter A.C.C. play. The win moves Virginia Tech to 11-0 on the season, and should see them climb in the polls. The Hokies entered the game at #24, and don’t be surprised if Virginia Tech enters the top 20.
Chanette Hicks once again paced the Lady Hokies with 18 points and 13 assists. Hicks was only 3 boards away from a triple double. Auburn’s Janiah McKay had a stellar night, with 28 points for the upset-minded Tigers. Next up for the Hokies are a couple of home dates with Radford, and Delaware State. Auburn entered the game with an 8-2 mark, and has played well all season.
