It’s been a great week to be a Virginia Tech Hokie fan. We had the greatest comeback in program history, winning the Belk Bowl, and upset #5 Duke in men’s hoops. Bucky Hodges announced he was leaving the program, and we all kind of understood. We heard Isaiah Ford is still weighing his options. That would not be good, but we understand. Then yesterday, techsideline.com ‘s Ricky LaBlue reported starting QB Jerod Evans is leaning to the N.F.L.
Source says that #Hokies QB Jerod Evans is leaning towards declaring for the NFL Draft.

Ricky does an excellent job reporting on all things Virginia Tech, so I have no reason to doubt his sources. If Evans decides to leave early, it would be a pretty big blow to the 2017 Hokies. Evans has put up some pretty impressive numbers in his first year at Blacksburg. Evans’ journey to get to Virginia Tech has been well chronicled, and it would be disappointing to see him dip after one stellar season. During spring practice, QB Joshua Jackson got a lot of love from Fuente and company. He might just get his opportunity one season ahead of schedule.
