The doldrums have officially set in for the Hokies. In Miami tonight, Virginia Tech faced off against the #11 Miami Hurricanes. The Hokies kept it close in the first half, and had a one point advantage heading into the break. The game was a low scoring affair, as both teams struggled to find the net. The Hurricanes'explosive offense was metered by great Hokies "D", and poor shooting. Virginia Tech did an admirable job keeping the 'Canes within striking distance throughout the first half.

In the second half Miami started showing what makes them #11. It seemed Miami had a second gear, while the Hokies were stuck in neutral. As the Hurricanes started pulling away, the Hokies had no answers. With 3 minutes left in the game the Hokies had just 5 second half field goals. That doesn't win church league, let alone A.C.C. basketball games. During the second half, the Hokies looked slow. The second half made the Hokies look completely outgunned. Coming off the 8 day break seemingly did the Hokies no good. Tech leader Zach LeDay did not record his FIRST field goal until a little over two minutes left in the game. Miami finished with four players in double figures. The Hokies managed just one. Justin Robinson finished with 12 for the Hokies.
The Hokies will face another Florida team on Saturday, as the Seminoles from Florida State invade Blacksburg. The Seminoles are 16-9 and have definite post season aspirations. The Hokies fall to 13-13, and are searching for answers.
