It's hard to read any Virginia Tech news lately without seeing stuff surrounding Buzz William's future at Virginia Tech. Most people would classify the basketball season a resounding success. We weren't dancing, but we got to the N.I.T. and won an opening round game. I think that the rebuilding project of V.T. basketball is in outstanding shape. Buzz Williams is a dynamic leader who molds men,as well as players. We all like Buzz. He was competitive in the hardest conference in all of college basketball. When someone has transformed a program, other universities start sniffing around. It's natural. Ask Memphis if they think it was fair we got Justin Fuente. Sometimes it is all about the money. Sometimes it's more about "fit" and exposure. I think we can all agree Buzz is a great fit in Blacksburg. I think playing in the A.C.C. is the biggest stage there is.
"If Buzz Williams leaves, the Virginia Tech basketball program is in a better place than he found it."
I have no hard feelings if Buzz decides to jump ship. He has done a great job, but if he wants to go somewhere else, so be it. If none of our current roster decides to join him or another school, we will be pretty darn good next year. Check out the roster. We have one, count 'em, one senior.

So if we lose only Shane Henry, I love this nucleus coming back. Zach LeDay could be an All-A.C.C. player next season. Seth Allen could be the same. If we get NO help from the incoming class, it would be hard to envision a 2016-17 Hokie squad not making the tournament. The biggest question would lie with in game coaching and recruiting. Recruiting is the biggest driver of future success, and the Hokies would benefit in trying to land someone with a proven recruiting track record. It would be terrible to lose Buzz WIlliams now, but we will endure.
