Virginia Tech Hokies Slump Continues: Highlanders Get Revenge

More offense this time, but five errors and shelled pitching equals a disappointing 8-12 loss to the Radford Highlanders in Radford.

The Virginia Tech Hokie defense and pitching just don't seem to be able to keep our opponents off of the bags and crossing the plate.  This particular 8 to 12 loss is painful because Tech's offense put up a very respectable, normally winning 8 runs; but you can't give up 15 hits and mix that with 5 critical errors and win a baseball game.

Tech's slump is threatening to go from depressing, to disaster.  Radford scored in every inning but the 8th.  Nic Enright takes his first loss, and Virginia Tech, who a week and a half ago was sitting on a winning record, has ridden a rail down to a sub .500 10-12 with a 1-5 ACC record.

The pitching is just not there.  The struggles with fielding consistency don't help.  There is still a whole lot of baseball to be played.  Here is hoping that Tech spells it with a "W"; because without it we are digging a deep one.

The next team up is a visit to English Field (at Union Park) by the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame University.  How South Bend is in the Atlantic (or even Costal region is beyond me); but Tech needs to buckle down and stop this slide into conference and NCAA irrelevance.

GO HOKIES!!!!
