On the evening of April 30 former Virginia Tech Tight End, Ryan Malleck, was signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted rookie free agent.

Malleck played with the Hokies from 2011-2015.  He did miss the 2013-2014 season due to a rotator injury.  During his time at Virginia Tech he played in 52 games and started in 32.  He spent time playing on special teams and the offense as the starting tight end.

During his career at Virginia Tech Ryan Malleck caught 62 total passes and amassed 658 yards.  The tight end from Point Pleasant, NJ averaged 10.6 yards per catch, with a longest reception of 71 yards against UVA this past season. He caught four touchdowns.

Ryan Malleck is listed as 6'5" and weighs 247 pounds.  He ran a 4.81 40 yard dash and had a 34.5 inch vertical. Malleck was not the only TE New York acquired today.  During the sixth round of the NFL Draft the Giants drafted South Carolina TE, Jerrell Adams, with the 184th pick.

Congratulations Ryan!  Best of luck!
