It's the final series of both the ACC and the entire 2016 season. Kit Sheetz unfortunately takes the loss for his last outing of the season; and it's a 12 hit seven run shelling for the effort. The Hokies drop the first game to 9th ranked UVA.

There were few really bright spots for Tech. The Wahoos opened with a run in the bottom of the 1st, and Tech only managed three total runs over the 2nd through 4th innings. The Hoos scored three in the bottom of the 2nd and that's really all that they needed. The bright spot for the game was Saige Jenco who managed two hits, a walk, an RBI, and a run scored. He also managed to steal second base in the top of the 3rd which resulted in his run scored.

With the weather caused cancellation of the VMI game on Tuesday, Tech lost its last good opportunity for a win before the season ends. That is not to say that the Hokies couldn't jump up and surprise the Wahoos for a game in this series; but it's doubtful.
There are two games left. The opening pitch is tomorrow at 1:00 PM. There are still miracles that occur in sports. Maybe the Tech baseball team will catch wind of one of them.
