Yesterday marked 100 days until the kickoff of the Battle at Bristol.  To mark the occasion, representatives from Virginia Tech and Tennessee traveled to New York City to talk about the big game, and discuss all the logistics it takes to transform a speedway into a football venue.  The game will be attended by over 150,000 fans, setting a new record for college football attendance.

Bristol Motor Speedway is owned by SMI, which owns seven other facilities.  Its chairman, O. Bruton Smith, has spent decades getting the game to happen.  Representatives from SMI rang the opening bell on Wall Street yesterday.  ESPN/ABC college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit was also on hand to talk about the game.  Former Hokie DeAngelo Hall was there, as well as Tech A.D. Whit Babcock.
