Virginia Tech Week In Review

Plenty of stuff went down in Blacksburg this week. We're here to catch you up!

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

It's actually been a pretty busy off season for the maroon and orange.  There has been some decent recruiting news. ICYMI, number one player in the state, Khalan Laborn, decalred for Florida State. He did so in unusual fashion. You can peep his infamous Lamborghini announcement here. Tyjuan Garbutt had a change of heart about committing to Tech, and Joshua Schneider gave his reaction. The U.V.A. Cavaliers were our last preview in the Coastal.  We weren't too high on the Hoos.

The watch list season cranked up, and several Hokies were named.  Joey Slye was named to the Groza Award list. Joey still hates footballs BTW.  Other Hokies named to watch lists included Bucky Hodges on the Mackey Award list, and Eric Gallo on the Rimington Award list.

Our resident artist, Jay Johnson, keeps reimagining the Hokie Bird. Keep the suggestions coming folks, Jay is having a blast with these.  The Hokies will be represented in Rio, Kristi Castlin will be in the 2016 Summer Games. Football is only 8 weeks away people, the tailgate starts now!
