The traditional school year is now upon us and with that the summer doldrums of collegiate athletics are firmly in the past.  Some of Virginia Tech's programs have already started their seasons, while a bevy of sports will begin their efforts soon.  Listed below is when one can expect the Hokies to kick off their season!

Women's Soccer: The season is already underway, and the women of VPI soccer have jumped out to a 2-0 record with victories over SEC foes, LSU and MSU.  The No. 17 ranked ladies will host ECU during their home opener this Friday, August 26.

Men's Soccer: The men start their season this Friday, August 26, when they face the Ohio State Buckeyes during the opening round of the Ohio State Tournament.

Volleyball: The Hokies start the season by hosting the Virginia Tech / Radford Invitational at Cassell Coliseum from August 26-27.  The Hokies' games will be streamed on HokieVision LIVE.  The women of VPI volleyball will kick it off against Appalachian State at 7 PM EST on Friday.

Cross Country: The Hokies begin their efforts at home in Blacksburg on Friday, September 2, at the Hokie Invite.

Swimming and Diving: The H2Okies open their season later next month with the Intra-Quad at Christiansburg, VA on September 23.

Golf: The Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational starts things off, for the Hokies, in Huntington, WV on Monday, September 12.

Wrestling: After last year's best finish in program history the Hokies look to follow up even stronger.  The wrestling season doesn't start until a bit later, but fans can expect to see the Fighting Gobblers in action starting Saturday, November 5.

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day for Virginia Tech athletics!  Best of luck to all the student athletes!

Go Hokies!
