The Battle At Bristol will be here in less than two weeks, and the stakes are certainly high. Along with a huge win, the victor receive a truly amazing trophy. The trophy weighs a whopping 88 pounds. Think about that. It weighs almost as much as TWO Heisman trophies. This trophy is only 26 inches tall, but it packs a punch. The sheer heft on this baby gives caution to post game celebrations.

It is an absolutely gorgeous trophy. The award took an amazing 300 hours to create. That is a lot of manpower to create a trophy worthy of this game. It was polished for almost an entire day. The total polishing process took over 20 hours. This would be a very special trophy in any trophy case, especially the Hokies'. The trophy blends modern techniques, with a nod to the past. The process used 3D printing, as well as an ancient method known as "lost wax". This is a casting method dating back 5,000 years. We need this in Merryman Center!
