There are so many great games this weekend, my head is spinning. Virginia Tech is playing Liberty this weekend, and there is no official line. There are some other interesting lines out there, and here are the ones that caught my eye. Please keep in mind that the lines and analysis is for entertainment purposes only.
All lines are provided by Bovada, and were used at time of publish. The first game on the slate that could really shake things up is:
Oklahoma (-11 1⁄2 ) Vs. Houston
There are many folks out there calling for the straight upset. I’m not there yet, but the Houston offense should keep this one pretty close. The Tom Herman hype train is in overdrive, and this upset might fast track Houston to the playoff. I’m thinking Houston comfortably covers the line.
U.S.C. (+12) Vs. Alabama
Alabama is no stranger to big opening games, and in this battle of collegiate blue bloods, they will prevail. U.S.C. will not be ready for prime time, and the Tide will roll. Look for Alabama to win by at least 3 scores in a blowout. Colin Cowherd and Clay Travis agree with me, and give an unusual reason why.
Clemson (-8) Vs. Auburn
In this battle of the Tigers, the A.C.C. version is clearly the better team. I think this one will be ugly in the second half, even though it is being played at Jordan-Hare stadium. Look for Deshaun Watson to stake an early claim for the Heisman. Clemson will win by at least 21 in a romp.
