Project Wing is a test to deliver Chipotle burritos to people at Virginia Tech using flying drones. With the way the Virginia Tech defense has been playing lately, those burritos might be the only thing allowed to fly in Blacksburg. The Hokies Lunch Pail Defense is back with a vengeance this year after posting a 49-0 shutout win over Boston College.
Allowing a mere 80.3 passing yards per game, Virginia Tech is the number 1 pass defense in the country. Just look at how stingy this pass defense has been in the first 3 games:
Liberty Flames: 2.6 yards per pass
Tennessee Volunteers: 4.8 yards per pass
Boston College Eagles: 2.8 yards per pass
You would think that this team would let up with a huge 49-0 lead and allow some cheap passes, but they didn't budge at all. This defense is why Virginia Tech has gotten off to a strong 2-1 start. Even with the one loss against Tennessee where the Hokies shot themselves in the foot with several fumbles, this pass defense has been the most consistent aspect of this team thus far. And this elite level of pass defense is why the Virginia Tech Hokies look poised to win the ACC Coastal Division.
