Virginia Tech Getting Destroyed. N.C. State Leads at the Half, 55-30

Red hot shooting Wolfpack storm out of the gates

NCAA Basketball: North Carolina State at Virginia Tech Michael Shroyer-USA TODAY Sports

The #21 ranked Virginia Tech Hokies are on the road tonight in Raleigh, N.C.. The N.C. State Wolfpack came out on fire, and the Hokies didn’t have an answer. The Wolfpack were maintaining a 10 point lead for much of the early going. The Wolfpack fans were making P.N.C. arena a hostile environment, and the Hokies looked confused during the first ten minutes. The temp was fast and furious, but the ‘Pack were the only ones converting in transition. Zach LeDay got the start over Khadim Sy, and the opening unit seemed out of sorts. The Hokies were trailing by 15 with 7:00 left in the first.

The Hokies could not buy a bucket, and N.C. State was making them pay. It was a seemingly endless barrage of easy buckets for the ‘Pack, and Virginia Tech had forgotten how to shoot. P.N.C. Arena was pretty vocal, but this was no home court advantage issue. This was a boat race issue. The ‘Pack were flirting with a 20 point advantage, and the Hokies are on the verge of being blown out. At the half it was 55-30 Wolfpack.
