For better or worse, the college football season is half over for many of the teams in the A.C.C. The league is in the embryonic stages of becoming the most dominant conference in the country, and we wonder which team’s fan base is most disappointed thus far.
Where to begin? The ‘Noles got ran over by Nick and the Bama boys, and have stumbled out of the gate for Jimbo Fisher. Losing a starting quarterback in the opener stinks, but a program as “loaded” as the Florida State Seminoles not having a viable backup is downright laughable. Florida State went on the road, and SURVIVED Wake Forest. Let that sink in. With L.S.U. perhaps saving their season last week, maybe the Jimbo is gone chatter quiets down, but for how long?
They almost catch a break, because of all the outside distractions, but Lamar Jackson has looked absolutely pedestrian this season. Clemson came calling, and crushed Louisville. Losing to Boston College at home is treason. Is Bobby Petrino on the hot seat? With all that’s going on with the N.C.A.A., it’s not a stretch. Some pundits had Louisville winning the A.C.C. in the preseason, which seems ludicrous now.
#3. Clemson Tigers
Going to the Carrier Dome is no joke. Ask Virginia Tech about it. The Clemson Tigers have perhaps the best resume of all A.C.C. clubs, but you can’t lose to the Syracuse Orange. Quarterback injuries are hurting Clemson, but again, a program that dominates in recruiting should have at the very least, a serviceable backup.
Let’s hear your vote!
