That was special. Or so the “Church Lady” thought. I watched the game on the DVR replay, and then of course spent almost 10 hours copying and editing pictures, just short of 3,200 of them to be more dazed than confused. What I saw, a frame at a time, and trying to remember things as I was moving up and down the field, was how dispirited the UNC team was. Things started out normally. Warm ups were fairly sedate, and the field was a bit on the warm side at about 2:00 in the afternoon.
The field people enter through the West stands’ portal 14, and then down the long stairs to the field entrance. I usually stop before heading down just to see who is coming early, and look at the various inspirational signs that serve as sort of an odd pergola all along the concession areas. Who knew that the TOUCHDOWN TECH sign would become a bit of a prophesy. Maybe I’ll take pictures of it more often.
The odd shapes on the bleachers, glittering in the sun, are those chrome orange pompoms that they passed out to the section for Orange Effect. They didn’t need the doohickies because the game was ORANGE! very very ORANGE!
Travon took a break to give me a good smile and wave during his warmup period.
It was Homecoming so there were lots of visitors on the sideline, Saturday.
Bud and the coaches were talking up folks, and discussing things. It was pretty relaxed. Not carefree, but nice and relaxed.
I will leave you with two pictures. One of the most frightening sight on 4th down that a punter can get a glimpse of. The second is my favorite bird.
