Virginia Tech Football :Miami opens as home dogs to the Hokies

It’s Miami week, and I got a surprising email this evening. Virginia Tech is listed as a 2 ¹⁄₂ point favorite against the the undefeated ‘Canes. The Miami Hurricanes have had some close scrapes the past few weeks, but being an underdog at home is a head scratcher. Opening lines are notorious for moving, but if you factor in the old “three points for home field logic”, the Hokies would be considered an almost touchdown favorite. The Virginia Tech Hokies have looked great in spurts all season, but outside of beating the West Virginia Mountaineers in a neutral site game, haven’t had a signature win.

With all the eggs in this throwback Big East basket, it will be interesting to see how this team responds. This much we know: the game will be nationally televised on ABC in their premier showcase game. There is doubt whether College Gameday will be there, but if they pull the trigger, it will be the third appearance on Gameday for the Hokies this season.
