The No. 10 Virginia Tech Hokies dominated the West Virginia Mountaineers when they came to call at Cassell this past Friday. The team won 30-6 and all but two of their pairings, including an upset of WVU’s No. 18 (157 lbs.) Zachary Moore by VT’s unranked B.C. LaPrade. In a top five matchups at 197 pounds the Hokies’ Jared Haught (No. 3) defeated the Mountaineers’ Jacke Smith (No. 5). Also adding wins for the Hokies were No. 14 (133) Dennis Gustafson, (141) Brent Moore, No. 4 (165) David McFadden, (174) Hunter Bolen, No. 7 (184) Zack Zavatsky, and No. 17 (285) Andrew Dunn. A great win to carry the Hokies through Christmas! VT has three-week break before competing in the Virginia Duals being held in Hampton, VA January 12 – 13.

Women’s Basketball
The Hokies improved to 11-2 with a 86-63 win over High Point. That victory is the sixth consecutive game in which Virginia Tech has outscored their opponent by at least 20 points. VT has been idle since the win, but will open conference play on Thursday, December 28, when they host the N.C. State Wolfpack at Cassell!
