Well, the LOI for Virginia Tech’s primary running back in the 2017 recruiting cycle is in. Terius Wheatley is already on campus, so now, everyone, please welcome Jalen Holston to the fold. Holston is from Stockbridge, GA, and is 5’-11”, 200lbs. He joins a somewhat crowded but, outside of Travon McMillian and maybe Steven Peoples, inexperienced backfield situation. He has offers from Michigan State, North Carolina, Duke, Florida, Georgia Tech, Louisville, and others (31 offers in total). Let’s see what he brings to the table with his senior highlights.
Holston is a bruising one-cut-and-go runner, which was something (outside of when Marshawn was healthy) the Hokies lacked this past year. He obviously, like most of the offensive recruits, has a chance to enter the 2-deep in his freshman year. He’s rated four stars by ESPN, but three stars by the other three services. Welcome to Statement17, Jalen, and welcome to Blacksburg.
