There aren’t too many Hokie baseball fans that are looking at the weekend series with Georgia Tech with a bright sunshine smitten disposition. While four runs isn’t horrible offensive production, giving up 7 runs certainly won’t end the day on an up note.

Tech’s offensive production was a couple of one run rallies and two solo home runs by Mac Caples and Rahiem Cooper. The odd thing about the outing was the lack of players left on base by the Hokies. Stranded on the Bags has been a theme for many games, but this time getting to a base seemed to be the biggest problem for Tech. Five hits and a basket full of strikeouts (14 K’s in total for the three ETU pitchers) kept the birds off of the bags.

I might be wrong, but this might be the first time that the Hokies have dropped below .500 for the season. Let’s hope that Georgia Tech gets on board with the Home Win/Loss record, and Tech gets a series win to get back in plus territory.
