The annual College Football preview magazines are hitting the newsstands, which seems to happen earlier and earlier every year.
Athlon Sports has released their pre-season CFB rankings and have place the Virginia Tech Hokies at No. 25. While many of the Hokie faithful may feel that is not an appropriate ranking for our beloved Fighting Gobblers, we would all do well to remember that last year VT was not mentioned much, if at all, as a preseason Top 25 team.
The heads at Athlon feel that the Hokies will finish second in the ACC Coastal division, with a projected record of 9-3 overall and 5-3 conference.
Including the Hokies, there are five total teams representing the Athlon pre-season Top 25.
No. 23 Miami-Florida Hurricanes
No. 18 Louisville Cardinals
No. 7 Clemson Tigers
No. 3 Florida State Seminoles
Outside of their pre-season rankings, Athlon is also showing Virginia Tech head coach, Justin Fuente, tremendous respect, ranking him the Number One "New Coach" of 2016.

What are your thoughts? Does Athlon have it right?
