A.C.C. Basketball Announces Matchups

We haven’t even seen the first snap of football season, but the A.C.C. brass are keeping basketball top of mind. On 7/20 they released the matchups for the upcoming hoops campaign. There aren’t any specific dates or times, due to television and other concerns, but the meat of the schedule is there:

Virginia Tech

Home/Road: Miami, Virginia, Duke, Louisville

Home: Florida State, Clemson, North Carolina, NC State, Pitt

Road: Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Boston College, Syracuse, Notre Dame

It is interesting to note that the A.C.C. considers Miami and Virginia the Hokies’ “Rivals”. Duke and Louisville are simply listed as “repeats”. Virginia Tech and Miami have had some great battles over the last couple of years, and Virginia is a given. I’m happy the Hokies have the opportunity to play the Devils twice next season, as well as traveling to South Bend to take on the Irish. The Hokies will host the Tarheels in 2018, which always excites the Cassell Guard.
