ESPN releases their preseason college football Power Rankings
The Virginia Tech Hokies have cracked the Top 25 of ESPN’s preseason CFB Power Rankings. ESPN notes that with the questions on offense the Hokies will likely need to lean on defense and special teams.
Top 5 ESPN 300 prospect narrows his schools to five
Defensive End K. J. Henry has announced the final five programs he is looking at joining, and the Virginia Tech Hokies have made the cut. Henry had this to say about VPI, “The Hokies, I like them. I think their fan base of all five schools have been showing me the most love. They show me support and show me they want me. Coach (Justin) Fuente, what they did last year and what I've seen this year from the offense, I've been impressed. To see that they're moving along speaks a lot to what they can do for me as a player.” Needless to say, this would be an incredible pull for the Hokies.
Women’s soccer hosts a pair of exhibition games
This past Tuesday the women of VT soccer hosted Liberty University in an exhibition game and finished the match with a 1-1 tie. This Saturday the Hokies will host UNC Charlotte.

Senior linebacker, Andrew Motuapuaka, has been named to the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Watch List.
Virginia Tech announces a partnership with Charlotte, NC radio station
There has been a lot of coverage regarding VT’s recruiting success in North Carolina. Now the Hokies are also expanding their broadcasting coverage into the state. The athletic department and Virginia Tech / IMG Sports Network have revealed a multi-year agreement with Charlotte radio station WFNZ to broadcast Hokie football games in the Charlotte metropolitan area.
