Hokie Sports Releases Mobile Application

This past week Hokie Sports released a mobile application. The application is currently available on the Android App Google Play store and the Apple iTunes App Store.

In order to download the app search using the term “Virginia Tech HokieSports” within the aforementioned app stores.

Once you complete the download and open the application it offers a significant amount of information regarding all of Virginia Tech’s athletic efforts. The homepage itself will highlight upcoming events, and can be customized to focus on sporting events the user wishes to prioritize.

The bottom menu scrolls from left to right and allows quick access to information and purchasing options. Access to links leading to ticket and merchandise purchases are immediately available. One of my favorite attributes is the ability to access the statistics and rosters of every VPI sports team. Additionally there is a quick information guide that provides fans with game day information and stadium policies. There is also a schedule tool that lists the when and where of all the VT sporting events.

Another fantastic feature is the ability to listen to the Tech Talk Live broadcast from within the application! The program allows customization based on your affiliation with the university (current student, alum, staff, etc.). Fans are also able to specialize which sports and events they want to filter.

All in all the application is very simple to use and provides a plethora of information that the Hokie faithful will find useful.

Hokie Sports is running a promotion through September 20 regarding their application. Everyone who downloads the app by September 20 and has push notifications enabled will be placed in a drawing where they could be chosen to win two front row tickets to the Virginia Tech Hokies vs Clemson Tigers football game.
