Virginia Tech Hokies senior WR, Cam Phillips, has broken the program’s single game reception record.

The previous record was 13 catches set by Nick Cullen back in 1990 against Southern Mississippi. Phillips had 11 catches in the first half against the East Carolina Pirates. During the third quarter the stand out VT receiver broke the record, earning his 14th reception in striking fashion. Redshirt Freshmen QB Josh Jackson hit Cam Phillips in stride for a 45 yard touchdown putting the Hokies up against ECU 43-17.

At the time of this writing the fourth quarter is just starting, but it is unlikely that Phillips and other starters will see the field again. Cam’s stats on the day are impressive: 14 receptions, 189 yards, and three TDs in the first three quarters.

Congratulations on an impressive performance Mr. Phillips!

Go Hokies!!!
