Ladies and gentlemen the time is nigh! Soon the Virginia Tech Hokies and West Virginia Mountaineers will open their respective seasons!

First the details:

During every football game Gobbler Country hosts a live game thread intended to foster conversation and commentary, between staff writers and our esteemed readers, as events unfold real time.

In order to participate you are required to register for an SB Nation account.

If you haven’t already registered, don’t worry, I am here to help!

Scroll to the very top of the page on any Gobbler Country article or the Home Page. Held within the maroon header line, nestled between the “More” selection and the search icon, you will see a graphic depicting the shoulders and head of a small person. Click on that graphic and you will be presented with an option to either “Log In” or “Sign Up.” Select “Sign Up” and you will be taken to the page where you can input your desired username, password, and the email you wish to associate with your SB Nation account. Once completed click the “Sign Up” button.

You will then be taken to a few pages to prove you aren’t a bot seeking to spam the comments. The first is simply a box that must be checked, which says “I’m not a robot,” then again click “Sign Up.” You will then be presented with a simple image test to prove you aren’t actually one of our robot overlords.

You should be asked to identify images that meet certain criteria. Upon selecting the associated photographs there may be pictures that regenerate. Continue to select the qualifying photographs as they regenerate until there are no longer photos that meet the aforementioned criteria. Once you complete the exercise select the “Verify” button. A warning: if you delay in clicking “Verify” after completing the exercise the verification process will expire and you will be required to do it over again.

Once you have completed the verification process you will be sent a confirmation email to the address you provided earlier. Upon opening that email you will be provided a web address to copy into your browser. Copy the address into your browser and hit enter. A Vox Media (SB Nation’s parent company) web page should load with the statement, “You have confirmed your account! Your account is now fully active.” You may now safely close out of the Vox Media web page and reload the Gobbler Country page. Account creation complete!

As long as you have created your account from the Gobbler Country homepage or an article you will automatically join the Gobbler Country blog and should be able to post immediately!

In the past there was a 24 hour waiting period before a new account could post, and that restriction may still exist if you wish to join other SB Nation blogs and comment.

I’d rather be safe than sorry, so I recommend generating your SB Nation account no later than Saturday, 7:30 PM EST!
