ESPN’s College GameDay halted its ten year absence in Blackburg this weekend when they returned for the ACC Championship Game rematch between the Clemson Tigers and Virginia Tech Hokies.
Earlier during the broadcast Kirk Herbstreit credited Frank Beamer and the Hokies for being the first to truly embrace GameDay and changing the culture of the show. The praise the GameDay crew had for the Hokies didn’t stop there. Later they described the roiling masses saying, “This crowd is crazy... hands down the best GameDay crowd we’ve seen.”

After an incredibly touching and emotional piece on the newest tradition in College Football, concerning the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, the Hokies also sent their thoughts to the young ones fighting.

After all of the excitement and festivities it was time to see who GameDay thought would be improving to 5-0, the Hokies or the Tigers?
BUT, FIRST...
Who is that I see? Is it... IT IS... IT’S BRUCE SMITH!
Hokie legend Bruce Smith is the guest picker for College GameDay!
