Just as we were jacked that Bucky appeared to make the final 53 man roster, he was waived/injured by the Minnesota Vikings. What does that mean? Well, after clearing waivers on Monday, here's how it plays. The Vikings might offer him an injury settlement. If that occurs, then teams are free to sign him immediately. Being on injured reserve may help Bucky here. Hodges sustained a concussion during the last Vikings preseason game. When San Francisco 49’ers TE Blake Bell was waived, Minnesota made their decision and signed him.
There have been widely varying reports of Bucky’s performance in camp, but when getting down to the magical number of 53, the Vikings (no real surprise here) wanted a healthy tight end to make an impact. My best guess is that Bucky plays this season, just not sure where. The Vikings placing him on injured reserve leads me to believe that he fits in their plans.
