Last week, redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Tim Settle announced his intentions to leave Virginia Tech early and enter the 2018 NFL Draft. The expectation was that linebacker Tremaine Edmunds and his brother, defensive back Terrell Edmunds, wouldn’t be too far behind Settle.
Has something changed?
I really like Tremaine but he hasn't declared yet and the school was telling folks he's staying. If he declares, I'll get him ranked. https://t.co/YQEKyDw4GU

There was some chatter on Twitter that Tremaine was staying in school for his senior season, likely meaning Terrell would be, too. This would be contradictory to some of the things we’ve heard since the season ended. Tremaine Edmunds has received high marks from those who cover the NFL Draft for a living. It would make sense for him to enter the draft.
However, Virginia Tech fans would certainly be happy to have both Edmunds’ brothers back on campus for their senior season.
We haven’t heard a lot about Terrell’s NFL draft prospects. He had an up-and-down junior season in 2017 as he transitioned over to safety. Edmunds added some weight and didn’t appear to be quite the same player as he was in 2016. Once thought to be a surefire future NFL player, Terrell’s NFL future isn’t as clear as it was one year ago. Some aren’t sure if he’s better suited at safety or corner. He did graduate in December and there appears to be little incentive for him to stick around for a fifth season.
Whatever Terrell decides, he will get picked in the NFL Draft and someone is going to get a steal. They would join older brother, Trey, in the NFL.
I fully expect both Terrell and Tremaine Edmunds to announce their intentions to enter in the 2018 NFL Draft soon. We can all hope they stick around Blacksburg for one more season, but whatever they decide, we wish nothing but the best for these two outstanding Hokies.
