The men’s soccer ACC Tournament Bid ended today with a 3-0 defeat by UNC. They still expect to get an NCAA Tournament bid, but the quarter final elimination from the ACC Tournament has to be disappointing.

The Hokies defeated Liberty in a special charity exhibition game. That raised over $36,000 for hurricane relief. That’s pretty special and a credit to both squads and fan bases. The people who are still struggling to dig out, mop up, and rebuild their lives will appreciate it greatly.
"This is what brands @LibertyU. We have a team of students that are leaving now to go support relief efforts. I just think it is unique & I am glad our community would come and support it."

Football
The defeat at home, on Homecoming, by Boston College was a bitter pill for lots of folks to swallow, but Treadmill Horse puts the game and the issues into some perspective.
For those calling for coaches heads: this team is playing their backup QB, was missing SEVEN defensive starters in the first half and lost FIVE expected starters from last year's defense. Calm down.

Gobbler Country Will have more to say over the next few days, and this time we will get some pictures up. It was a beautiful Fall day for football and lots of them turned out great even if the game was disappointing.
