Gobbler Country’s Hokie Sports Evening News Round Up #20-1

Well we are waiting patiently for Monday morning and the drive to Annapolis to attend the bowl festivities and the bowl game. It’s going to be a long day. It’s been a long time for any interesting news, that’s for sure. The holidays are taking a serious bite out of our subject matter. There are some interesting goings on, though.

It’s time for the Bird to work some magic

Hokie Basketball

Men’s

Maryland Eastern Shore came to Cassell for a holiday break game. The crowd was light, local, and loud. Even with the small crowd, the game was fun. The team was loose and the shooting was excellent from the field. The charity stripe work still needs to improve, but it was raining threes from everywhere. Tech didn’t even feel the need to go inside until the game was far out of hand by the end of the first half.

The team is having some fun before the game.

Final score was 85 - 40 and mostly because the Hokies let up on the gas by the middle of the 2nd.

Highlights are here:

Women’s

The women’s team was in action against Longwood for a final non-conference matchup.

Yikes!!! The Hokie Women are 13-0 heading into league play. This season they might just have a better chance to keep up the momentum.

Hokie Football and the Bowl Prep

Colman Fox gets to wear the #25 for the final game of his Tech career. He’s graduating in the Spring, and hasn’t said where he will land.

It’s the official casual picture of the bowl team.
