Gobbler Country’s Hokie Sports Evening News Round Up #16-1

It’s Monday and we go into total football quiet mode after the big announcement. All players have off except for the gym and weight rooms. But there is some news. Frank is finally inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, and some quiet while exam week looms for the student body.

Hokie Nation

Kyle Chung said good bye to Lane as a football player. He’ll just have to be a Hokie Nation fan like the rest of us, now. He took some time to reflect after the game on Saturday.

Well, that man with the moves took a trip to New York, so that he’ll be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, which should have wrapped up on ESPN3 streaming.

In case anyone forgot, there is another Beamer doing something significant in December. In case y’all don’t remember there is a certain Shane Beamer

Is the Assistant Head Coach and Co-Offensive Coordinator for the Playoff Bound Oklahoma Sooners. We wish him luck.

Hokie Basketball

Men’s

Ranked 15th in the AP, and 14th in the Coaches’ Polls

Tech really clobbered Central Connecticut by 54 Points. I don’t even know where to start with that, did the Hokie Bird get in?

Women’s

The Women’s Basketball Team Tips off against our New River Valley buddies and sometime rivals, the Radford Highlanders.

Just a reminder from Hokie Football

Gobbler Country is waiting to hear word on our application to cover the game. Things look pretty good, we’ll hear soon enough. The deadline for filing the paperwork is 16 December so it might be a week before we hear from the bowl committee.

GO HOKIES!!!
