The Virginia Tech Hokies are going back to the NCAA tournament. Given their resume, they are a lock for the field, and the only thing left to be determined is their region and seeding.
The bracket will be fully unveiled on TBS (IMPORTANT: not CBS) starting at 6 p.m. EST. In years past, each team that made the tournament was revealed with their seeding, but this year the format is different. Instead, all 68 teams that are in the field will be shown first, and then the seeding will be announced. It seems like CBS wants to keep viewers glued to their screens for as long as possible.
If you missed it, I wrote a comprehensive review of the Hokies’ season and where they should end up as a result this morning, which you can find here.
If you are in Blacksburg, Virginia Tech is also having a party in Cassell to celebrate the Hokies’ second tournament appearance in as many years. The doors open at 5 p.m., an hour before the selection show is broadcasted.
I genuinely hope that everyone who has supported us throughout the season can find time to celebrate with us tomorrow!
