Hello, you guys! My day job required me to be away for the last six weeks, but I am back! For a bit, anyway!
Well, let’s get right to it! The women of the Virginia Tech Hokies lacrosse team earned were named to their very first NCAA Championship tournament!

Such an achievement would not be possible if second year head coach, John Sung, had not improved on his impressive debut season. This year the Hokies posted an overall record of 14-6 and an ACC record of 5-2. They had signature wins against then No. 10 Duke (17-14), then No. 16 Denver (11-5), then No. 17 Notre Dame (9-6), then No. 18 Syracuse (15-14), and then No. 17 UVA (16-12). The Hokies’ only conference losses came against two top five squads. No. 2 Boston College squeaked by with a two-point win, 7-9. No. 5 North Carolina barely edged by with a 12-13 win! The Hokies rose all the way up to being ranked No. 12!
During the ACC Tournament the Hokies again defeated the Blue Devils, 13-12, before falling to the Tar Heels, 8-14.
Yesterday the women of VT lacrosse made the program’s first appearance in the NCAA Championship with a solid 13-10 win over Georgetown! Tomorrow the Hokies will face UNC for a third time this season. Perhaps, third time’s a charm?!
