The Virginia Tech slate got a bit easier with today’s announcement of the Hokies’ replacement foe for the 2020/2021 season. Michigan was originally scheduled to face Virginia Tech, but cancelled the future dates. The Hokies had a pretty daunting schedule in 2020, hosting Penn State, and traveling to Ann Arbor the following weekend. With Penn State on the uptick, this could have been a deadly Big 10 1-2 punch. The schedule for 2021 was as equally difficult. In 2021, the Hokies will travel to Morgantown to face long time rival, West Virginia. They will also host the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

This latest announcement will certainly make the season a bit more manageable, but as a fan, it would have been nice to visit the “Big House”. Middle Tennessee plays it’s home games at Johnny “Red” Floyd Stadium. It has a seating capacity of 30,788. That’s just a little less than Michigan. The Blue Raiders will come to Blacksburg on September 9/11/2021
