Men’s Soccer
The Virginia Tech Hokies men’s soccer team came close to unseating the No. 1 Wake Forest Demon Deacons, but were ultimately defeated, 1-2. Until the last thirty minutes of the match VT led WF, 1-0, on the back of a penalty kick. Wake’s offensive attack kept up the pressure and the Deacons were able to take the lead with about seven minutes left to play.

Women’s Volleyball
The 9-1 Hokies departed for Texas a bit earlier than planned due to the travel complications presented by Hurricane Florence. Tomorrow, after spending the last half of the week preparing and practicing in the Lone Star State, the Fighting Gobblers will face their first ranked opponent when they challenge No. 18 Baylor.
