Hokies Soccer
Women’s
The Hokies dropped a tough ACC match to the Florida State Seminoles 3-nil. Seems the Florida State Women’s soccer team took some offense to the football loss. It seems that the Tech women had real difficulty getting shots on goal, with 2 for the entire game, which was a low. Tech’s W/L line is currently 4-2-3, 0-1-0 ACC.
Men’s
The men’s team didn’t score any more goals than the women’s. The match was considerably tighter with the North Carolina State Wolf Pack, but the end result was the Pack putting one more goal in the net than Tech had. Tech’s W/L here is currently 5-3-1, 0-2-1 in ACC play. The #14 ranking should shrink back, though the contest was so tough it might stay in the top 25.
Volleyball
Pitt came to Cassell for the Hokies home opener and dominated the court. Tech dropped the match 3 games to 0, with only the 3rd being relatively close. Pitt’s volleyball team is totally undefeated, and came to Blacksburg with an ACC win as well. Virginia Tech’s W/L line for the 2018 season and ACC opener is: 9-4, 0-1 ACC. There is still a lot of competition left, and the marked improvement in the team is welcomed by all this season.

On a personal note, I know what Caleb Farley is going through. It’s tough and painful. He’s a fine young man and a wonderful football player. It is strengthening to triumph through the pain of loss. There are more than angels watching you! GO CALEB!
Glad to have Caleb in Blacksburg. Always behind you!! https://t.co/MeYeIAeta4
