Gobbler Country’s: Virginia Tech Hokie Evening News Roundup #3-3

It’s a cooling wet and bumpy Friday evening in Blacksburg.

Hokie Soccer

Men’s

The big 1st Commonwealth Clash between the #21 Hokies and the #10 Wahoos of Hooville ended in a 1 - 1 tie. Of course it was a “kissing your sister” sort of event, but given the double overtime played, and the fact that the underdog Hokies blanked the Hoos in the 2nd half and both OT periods was a victory of sorts.

Women’s

The Hokies triumphed with a 3 - nil blanking of the Villanova Wildcats! Great Going Hokies!

Volleyball

The tall ladies of the net and hard court are putting up big numbers and big wins again. This afternoon the Hokies defeated Indiana Univeristy - Purdue University Indianapolis. (I kid you not. I had to seach for it because it’s known as IUPUI. The Hokies

Update: The Hokies take a hard fought match against Ohio 3-1. Give them credit Tech couldn’t put them away until the 4th game. The Hokies are still undefeated!

Hokie Football

Friday is uniform announcement. Looks like Matte White helmets with the glossy racing stripes, maroon jerseys and white pants. Hope they are water proof, maybe lightning proof, too. Going to be wet down there!

Congratulations to Eric Kumah for being awarded the #25 for this game. I bet this was a really difficult choice.

Hokies in the Pros

Tyrod was elected a Captain for the Cleveland Browns, natch. Good Luck Tyrod, but not too much because you are up against Terrell and my Steelers.

So that’s this evening. Waiting, sorting out rain gear, and hoping for just rain and no “fireworks”. Except, the Skipper going off repeatedly and often.

GO HOKIES!!!!!
