Virginia Tech Hokies vs. Wake Forest Demon Deacons: Preview

The Hokies return from a 1 and 1 road trip to host Wake at Cassell. The Deacons are struggling a bit, but the Hokies are coming off off a less than satisfactory road performance. Can Tech get it turned around?

The Virginia Tech Men’s Basketball team gets a chance to get refocused and re-energized for the 2nd half of the season. Wake Forest heads into Blacksburg with an 8 and 8 overall record, with a 1 and 3 ACC total. Wake is sort of treading water and struggling to stay ahead of the power curve, which is pretty steep in the ACC.

On te Hokie side of the court, Tech seems to be going through a bit of a fade. Yes, the road trip was a wash at 1 and 1; but nobody’s kidding anyone. Tech struggled to put points up in both contests. We don’t have enough height inside to command the boards, offensively, and for two straight games the perimeter shooting was poor.

Tech needs to refocus and relax. They spent two games setting up poorly and failing to follow up outside shots. With Georgia Tech that wasn’t a game losing problem. Against UVA it was game suicide.

The Hokies looked off kilter and out of sorts for two games. It is time for them to use this home ACC game against a beatable opponent to get back into rhythm.

We’ll see how it goes. 4:00 PM tipoff. Local coverage, which means DC Metro area should have something. Time for the Hokies to put a stop to this before a one loss two game dither becomes something.

GO HOKIES!!!!!
