Hokie Football News and Stuff
Well, last week was all about Bud Foster. This week is still about Bud Foster. Bud’s not done until the last game of the season ends, whenever that is. This weekend the #LPD is looking to make sure that the last game is hovering around New Year’s Day.

He just keeps getting better. Tore it up in OT against Carolina and the roll has just kept coming.
The weather in Atlanta is expected to be cool, low 40’s for kickoff with some overcast skies but clearing and getting chilly by the 2nd half. We’ll see, looks like typical southern November temps and conditions.
The Hokies and Yellow Jackets kick off at 3:30 PM The game can been seen on Regional Sports Network (RSN). Looks like NBC Cable will be carrying it on Comcast.
Predictions

Virginia Tech has momentum back on their side after a big win against Wake Forest. Even though the Georgia Tech series has given them trouble in the past, the Hokies should be full of confidence. And for good reason. VT continues to mix effective passing and long, time-devouring rushing drives. This is not the same Yellow Jackets team Hokies Nation has faced over the past decade. They lost to the Citadel and against Temple - in the latter, they scored just two points. Last week they put up a fight against UVA, but GT is widely inconsistent and struggles against the run. Expect the Hokies to open the game similar to last week, long drives of rushes and short passes. Bud’s defense found their form last week and being on the road won’t impact that. Hokies win in a fairly comfortable game, with two much harder dates still to come.

I have picking against the Hokies for weeks. And, it is working. However, I am going against that trend this week and picking the good guys. While I do think this is a tougher game than some, the Hokies will walk out of Atlanta with another important win before another revenge game next week against Pitt. Hendon Hooker has another big game and the Hokies show out on defense.
Virginia Tech 34, Georgia Tech 20

Georgia Tech is at home, with a Freshman QB, I completely different offense, a very shaky start and a stunning surprise result against the Wahoos last week. I’m not saying that we aren’t favored. I’m saying I hate being favored when we just started getting going. This Hokie team is still very young, and very prone to letting their egos get out ahead of their results. I honestly don’t see a loss, but I can see Georgia Tech throwing the kitchen sink at us. They have nothing at all to lose. Virginia Tech has everything to prove. We might see the cardiac Hokies in the 1st half, but nab it in the 2nd, again.

Georgia Tech is spoiling for something and ruining our chances for a bowl would make their day. They rise up and surprise us on both sides of the ball and win comfortably.

Virginia Tech wants this. Hokies know they are the better team, and after a slow start start hammering the young Jackets. Hokies win cruising away.

Georgia Tech doesn’t give an inch. The Hokie running game gets stuck again, and the passing game is still hit or miss. It’s a low scoring messy game and the Jackets nab a close one.

Both teams struggle to move the ball. The defenses control the situation, but the Hokie D is just that much better. Some turnovers go the Hokies’ way. Tech wins a low voltage low scoring game by a TD.
