Wake Forest Demon Deacons vs. Virginia Tech Hokies: Official Game Thread

It’s game day, Hokies. Today, we honor legendary defensive coordinator Bud Foster. The competition will be stuff, but let’s start another win streak for Coach Foster today.

It’s a perfect fall day for football in Blacksburg. The temperature is just above 40 degrees with a slight breeze and expected to be much cooler as the evening progresses. The Virginia Tech Hokies (5-3, 2-2) are looking to stay afloat in the ACC Coastal, but face a stiff in the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (7-1, 3-1).

The Deacs feature a prolific offense, led by junior quarterback Jamie Newman. Newman is the best quarterback the Hokies have faced this season and is a true dual threat. At 6’4”, 245 pounds, Newman is a load to bring down. He is also the ACC’s most accurate passer and rarely turns the ball over. Tech’s defense will have its hands full.

Unfortunately for the Hokies, they’ll be without starting cornerback Jermaine Waller for the first half. Waller, of course, was called for a targeting penalty in last week’s loss at Notre Dame.

Speaking of the Hokie defense, today is the day Virginia Tech is honoring the great Bud Foster. Some former Hokie greats are in attendance today to support Coach Foster. The best way to support Bud, of course, is a win.

Please follow along here and comment and let us know what you’re thinking of today’s game. And, as always.....GO HOKIES!!!!!
